We are now 2 weeks from the election on 15 March 2008.  The Mayoral candidate race is well and truly under way.  Mayoral candidates in the order of the ballot paper are:

The amalgamation of the Councils presents an opportunity for residents to elect a new Council of 8 elected representatives and a new Mayor. It is vitally important that the new Council be comprised of forward thinking and innovative Councillors who will undertake their roles and responsibilities with honesty and integrity and fairness to ensure full and proper representation across the whole of the new local government area inclusive of the communities from the former Kilkivan and Tiaro Shires.
